I’m thinking about doing a build around Ruby Fangs with Cinder Strike converting poison to ignite. There is a node in Falconry that gives your falcon your bleed and poison chance on hit as well as a node in the passive tree that does the same. Does the poison on melee hit count for this or is it more specific to only generic increases to poison chance on hit? If not, do you think these nodes are still worth taking? There’s a decent chance that I build chance to poison in addition to the fire res stacking anyway. I might also build some bleed and run Maehlin’s Hubris to turn any bleed chance I can pick up into ignites as well and then the falcon should get that. However, that would mean dropping the gloves that give + levels to cinder strike and I have a lot of nodes I want to take in that tree as it is.
There’s the Rending Talons node which should apply to the Falcon’s melee hits, but that’s just poison/bleed/shred, not ignite as far as I’m aware.
I don’t think the Falcon gets your ignite chance, just bleed/poison (& shred).
And conversion nodes only ever apply to the skill they’re in unless specified. So the poison->ignite node in Cinder Strike will only apply to Cinder Strike, not the Falcon. Maehlin’s Hubris would but I don’t think the Falcon can inherit your ignite chance.
Thanks. I figured I wouldn’t get the ignite conversion, but I kind of wonder if it’s worth it anyway with some damage over time nodes anyway. Although maybe not. idk. I’ve been kind of struggling to figure out exactly what skills I want to use outside of Cinder Strike. But we’ll see.
