New to Last Epoch. Saw other threads with this topic, but I really want this and haven’t seen any dev discussion about it.
Disappointed how often I can tank boss AoEs and clear without deaths, and how unspecial modded enemies feel. And despite loving sidequests, I’ve been avoiding them just to lower my power a bit.
I don’t need it to be insane, I just want more friction… A level of difficulty which encourages more careful movement, more consideration of defenses, and pushes me to use fancy crafting stuff. Like: beef up telegraphed attacks, more modded enemies (including modded groups?), and upward adjustments on enemy health/damage on a per-zone basis.
Mentioning that last one cuz: no, I don’t like wearing the cursed Veteran’s Boots. Taking up an equipment slot is a bummer, and the effects it applies feel so… brute-force?

So, you want a harder mode but don’t want the (effective) harder mode that’s been provided because it’s too harder mode. You do realise that the stats on the boots were what masochist mode was back in the day? What’s to say that if (when, hopefully) the devs do implement something like this that it wouldn’t be “too difficult” for you like the boots ate?
They did reply on some of those threads. But when there are dozens of threads open about this issue because everyone would rather make a new one rather than vote and engage with the existing ones, you can’t really expect them to keep repeating the same things over and over. Not even players like doing that.
Well, one problem is similar threads with the search terms I could think up were in General instead of Feedback and Suggestions… Another is: no one’s voting! There are often more people agreeing with the OP of a thread than voting for it.
Anyway, you quoted the phrase “too difficult” which I didn’t use. When I say it’s “brute-force,” it’s like… The difficulty is manageable, but it slows down the game more than it increases its interest. I don’t think I would have loved masochist mode since I’d prefer a more tailored difficulty setting, but having better movement speed in the boots slot would be a major improvement, honestly!
I can’t say for sure I’d love an alternative difficulty implementation by the devs, but since they already have the infrastructure for infinitely variable difficulty in post-game, I’m sure they could cook something up. I already suggested some features like increasing damage from telegraphed attacks, which you can imagine would affect the game much differently than 100-200% extra global damage taken, etc.
Yeah, and often more people are opening new threads than voting on the already existing ones, just like… you?
Heck, if you see a post you like and agree, but you don’t see much engagement to it, why not bump that very post with your coments and voting instead of opening yet another thread that will get not so many votes on?
Yeah, I’m not sure it rrally matters much, IMO, if a thread is in general or feedback. The devs have said before that they find it useful to have 1 long thread with similar feedback/issues in it rather than that feedback scattered about in different threads.
Yeah, this sounds like you’d prefer something more granular, like D3’s difficulties, rather than something binary like GD’s.
