I know even horizon is nice, but have you considered whetstone gavel?
It does work with shields. It doubles not only affixes, but also the implicit block chance and block effectiveness. With a good T7 block effectiveness with other good affixes, it might be worth to try.
Hmm, I didn’t know it worked with shields. I don’t think it’s worth it, because from T7 to T8 you already double your Block Effectiveness, and getting 100% block isn’t hard with this build, so I can’t see anything that would make the loss of 150 more damage worth it. But I can test the item and try to discover some interesting variants. Thanks for the info
I understand… I think the only way to attack faster is with Void Knight Echoes, but then I couldn’t use 2h + shield… I think for this build the best slot is Event Horizon
I’d like to see whetstone gavel work with shields, but i can’t get it to work in game. Works in lastepochtools build planner. If it worked then i would make spellblade with 100+% block chance If you know how to make it work in game, then i will appreciate help with this.
As for event horizon, now i wonder how it could work with spellblade’s firebrand and primalist’s upheaval. Both have nodes to ignore attack speed and quick test shows it can work.
It’s definitely an option, but I prefer Champion Regalia, with high armor and mitigation, and the 2 set bonuses are very strong.
Yes, the build has few sources of shredding armor (shield bash tree). Since it’s not a build with much attack speed or many sources of simultaneous attack, it doesn’t scale very well with shredding armor, and since it already has a lot of penetration, I left it on the back burner. But it can definitely improve damage, especially with more LP slots.
Since the build already has a lot of penetration, and doesn’t make use of the Monument of Protection, which boosts block effectiveness, I chose to focus more on that in the tree… But more penetration is indeed an option to optimize damage a bit.
It’s definitely a less frenetic build than others, but it’s very consistent defensively and great for beginners who want to learn the boss mechanics. Plus, it’s easy to implement as a starter to get better items.
Thanks for your considerations, they are valid points to improve the build!
