Most likely this hath something to do with a mouse cursor bug: when ye hover the cursor over a desired shard in the list of shards, in order to select it for crafting, the cursor hath to be hovered at the very edge of the “visual field” of a shard. If the cursor at the middle of the “field”, then when ye click on it ye will not select a one ye need, but the one under it.
