I noticed when I died on an hc ssf character, and then deleted them and made a new one with the same name I had stuff in my stash/gold from the previous character. I recreated it once with the same character name. Not sure if this is intentional or not as the past few days have been my first in playing hc/solo. Operating system is Windows 10, was playing via Steam client.

Yes, this is a known issue when you create a character with the same name.
