Buff Primalist Companions

With the introduction of Falconer…the Falcon is just SO SO SO much better than any Beastmaster companion, its silly.
It’s IMMORTAL, it has multiple skills that cause it to do massive damage.

Beastmaster companions need some buffing to catch up.
Some Suggestions:

  1. Make Beastmaster Companions (BCs) AUTO REVIVE. No more standing in little circles to revive them. They revive after 4 seconds automatically, with passives making this time shorter.

  2. Make BCs tankier. They need more base health, a lot more health.

  3. Raptor needs a HUGE, and I mean HUGE buff. It is supposed to be the signature skill of the beastmaster, and it’s weak. Give it AOE on all its attacks, a LOT of AOE.

  4. Lower the mana cost on the companion abilities. They already have a long cooldown, no need to be mana hogs.

That is a start. I hope others post other suggestions.

Agree, sort of. Having to give up prefixes for minion health, and that not even being enough feels bad. Having to stand on them to revive is awful. The disparity with the falcon is absurd.

But I don’t see the problem as “primalist bad”. In the context of the game pre-runemaster, it’s ok. The problem is they threw the whole balance handbook out the window with runemaster and haven’t looked back. They either need to reign in all the new stuff, or buff ALL the old stuff up so it feels like you’re playing the same game.

I am new so don’t really have anything to compare the companions to. But mine don’t really die that much yet. The Crows did at times…but Wolves, Sabertooth and Scorpion really don’t.
I have 4 points in Primal Medicine, 2 in Ancient Call, 5 in Hunter’s Restoration, and 5 in Hunter’s Emanation, 5 in Call of the Pack, and 5 in Chitinous Plating in the Druid tree.
Between that and all the leech, from the Aspect of the Shark subtree node, they stay alive. I am about to go into empowered echoes so this is up to where I am which is the last echo on normal mode.

Hopefully they don’t fall off in empowered echoes.

Raptor does feel underwhelming compared to the Sabertooth. I would think he would be a step up.

Well there is a unique axe that auto revives the companions.

But I do agree, I am a huge lover of “Solo minion” builds, where your build is focused on fighting along side your really big strong minion and microing him.

Solo bear(rip in peace), scorpion, storm totem, and now the falcon.

The falcon feels like it takes this idea to the maximum level and everything else is just nothing. Even if those builds are strong and even strong enough to push highish corruption… They are so bland vs falconer who gets several skills to micro the falcon.

I just dont know how they will update it, I dont think auto revive is the answer, think they just need to hella buff minion hp at a baseline. bear for example gets 18 flat per str and per level, at 100 str, level 100, its a base like 4000 life or something. with 1000% inc minion health its got 40k health. it still can die at high corruption if the boss shits out aoe damage… and you have given up a billion affixes for health.

the %health modifiers are already in real big values. I think the base hp should just be buffed per level, that way the player does not feel the need to invest in attributes as hard for the double scaling.
