Buff Hand of Judgement

I currently have 426% inc fire damage, 80% inc spell dmg, 140% dmg over time, 193% healing effect, 20% fire pen and 58 attunement yet my Judgement is doing significantly less damage than my other characters while having significantly more investment. With 3 Sigils of Hope active my Judgement is only hitting for less than 5k against enemies that have no damage reduction or fire resist mods. Or buff the non many heavy nodes, it’s terrible without Pious Offering. Could do something like “Judgement gains Holy Eruption and deals x% more damage, Judgement can’t benefit from Pious Offering” as an example.

Hey dunno if you’re specifically opposed to Pious Offering and Urgent Inquisition but specced into those and some of the other damage nodes on the tree, my tooltip DPS for judgement is 27k while my tooltip dps for vengeance is only 2.9k. Said another way, judgement is nearly 10x the dps of my secondary skill. With no cooldown and some of the nodes that give you back mana on melee hit, you can use judgement pretty frequently for some pretty nice dps. Dunno how it compares to other classes, but Paladin is pretty tanky so I was impressed with the amount of damage this does as a tank class.

Also looking at your post, it looks like you’re listing spell damage and attunement stats which largely scale the DOT component of judgment, not the melee hit that you say is doing less than 5k (which would scale with strength and added melee damage). I think a lot of the damage from the spell comes from the DOT from the consecrated ground. The numbers might not be as impressive but it melts enemies pretty fast.

Yeah dont think its so much the gloves as it is the Judgement skill tree. I have 900% healing effectiveness and 95 attunement and i hit hard but even having no cooldown i cant actually attack freely because of the mana problems. Unfortunately there is skills in the game like Volatile reversal that ties the devs hands when it comes to balance. They seem to think things are fine because every build uses Volatile reversal and as a result they cant really buff stuff without being too strong because of a very easily obtainable VOID KNIGHT ability. Hell even void knights do holy trail better than us.

The first stat on Hand of Judgement says it adds melee damage per attunement, as in each attunement would inc the initial hit damage because that is melee while the dot is not a melee. The initial hit also does fire damage, for my 426% fire dmg. This is my first time playing a Sentinel, I only made it because I got the gloves, so maybe I’m wrong but that’s how it looks when you read the ability and it’s tags. I’m not against Pious it just shouldn’t be the only way to make the ability viable. I listed all my stats, rather than only my stats to the melee attack, because even with the increased to the dot that I have my dot dmg was still only doing ~ 500 dmg per tick while now with Pious the dot is doing ~ 1k, so even the dot is WAY better with Pious. Them adding massive cdr on the gloves to me indicates it’s meant to be used without Urgent Inquisition, otherwise that is a completely wasted stat, yet the ability is still useless if you don’t go that path.

Idk this is only my 3rd character and 1st Sentinel, I made it because the gloves dropped on my Shaman. But I noticed two things. It’s complete trash it you don’t take Pious. Two it’s doing WAY less damage than both my other characters (totems and avalanche) with much more investment than both of them and neither of them are op or even close.

If you like pushing judgement stick with it. Get nore healing effectiveness. Look for adorned idols woth healing effectiveness and fire penetration with melee hit. When you get a ton of healing effect take prophesied immolation in the bottem right of the tree.
