Brightness normalization or toggle?

One problem I’ve been having has to do with the brightness of the game relative to the different map colors.

Void maps are excessively dark to the point that if I’m playing during the day, glare becomes a huge issue for seeing what’s going on.

On the other side of the spectrum, whiter/brighter maps, such as snowy levels, are just irritating. If there were a dark mode for these I’d turn it on.

The problem is if it were just one end of the spectrum I were having trouble with I could just adjust the gamma higher or lower accordingly. But since both extremes are too much, fixing one problem would just make the other worse.

So it’d be nice if either there was some effort to bring the range of brightness/colors down a bit, or if there were some quick toggle which could be on a key binding to switch between a higher or lower brightness setting.

Or in case I’m dumb and missed something: Is there a way to do this on Windows 10 generically? I was googling around and I only found stuff related to laptops with built in function keys mapped to these functions.
