Been ripping last epoch the past week or 2, and im having trouble with monolith bosses, im level 60-70 and the shade of orobys bosses seem to rip me, im playing a marksman and a BM and it seems like i get one shotted quite often, are resist that important to be maxed or is 50+ good? also im running high armor on my BM but i seem to still have trouble staying alive, is there any tips to help me face tank bosses
The most effective stats to avoid getting one-shot is actually health. Itâs not such a massive deal to not be resist capped as it is in PoE for example. Having a bigger health pool is more important. There are some abilities that are very telegraphed and you should definitely move out of them like the big circle cast from Lagon and others like that. But some stuff you can simply survive with some health and then using potions/healing yourself in other ways before getting hit again.
Caped resists, caped crit avoidence or less damage taken from crits, enough armor and HP is a needed baseline as well as Ward if you play a class that makes good use of it. Having some dodge/block and Endurence on top is nice as well.
âStay out of shitâ is something that should always be kept in mind as well.
This is always the first line of defence.
My high 70s VK has no issues with him, I have about 2.2k life, 5.5k armor, and capped resists. I feel endurance is a trap, Iâd rather stack more hp than have to invest in % and increasing the amount of life required for endurance to do its thing.
Help me out with a basic mechanic please. I forget the base of my chest, but it has 550 armor. If I roll % increased armor on it, is that a local or global stat. I have PoE brain, I assumed it was local but I honestly dont know.
Item modifiers are always global. Skill nodes are always local unless specified.
Appreciate ya thank you!
Keep in mind your endurance threshold is always at a baseline 20% of your health pool. So itâs almost always effective to get endurance percent unless youâre short on suffixes or sacrificing like hybrid or increased health for it. 20% endurance is basically like taking your bottom 20% of your health pool and multiplying it by 1.2. You can do some quick maths to determine if replacing a suffix for that is worth it to you.
Typically donât ever build endurance threshold though for the exact same reason, you can just increase health and that also increases your threshold due to the base 20% conversion.
Endurence is the least intresting interaction ingame for me but I think it should be mentioned because it works rrather well if you invest enough affix slots. These slots are most likely better used for something else but non the less the stat is there so it would be strang to leave it out of defensive suggestions ^^.
Yeah, if you are a health build, I would never sacrifice a t5+ roll for endurance. I would much rather aim for crit avoidance/less crit damage + life over endurance% and endurance threshold. Add some armor and capped resists - you are doing all right.
Ya its boring, and takes a lot affixes. You need t5 + rolls for threshold to make it feel good. Its too late to do math, but am I wrong thinking it is more effective the lower your hp pool is? My 2.2k life 5500 armor + 5% melee leech VK never gets hit hard for endurance to ever activate.
Yeah I said it in multiple games over the last years. HP is either full or you die in most cases with little inbetween.
