Boss fights take too long with no extra skill required

I am all for longer boss fights or boss fights that require dynamic skills throughout the fight. However, I feel the boss fights are dynamic enough as is but they are way too tanky. So it becomes a repetitive battle of dodging their pattern of attacks then DPS, rinse and repeat.

If the bosses are this tanky, I think the fight itself should be more dynamic. But if the boss fights stay the same, then they should be at least have less HP.

Well I can’t really agree with you on that.
Yes bosses here have way more HP than any other boss in other ARPG I’ve played, and like you, I enjoy that.
When I was doing my first run on story, some bosses took quite sometime to kill since I didn’t rlly know how to build. But then when I did my second run with another character, knowing what to do and having a way more efficient build, those bosses were done way way faster.
Same story for bosses in Monolith or any end game content.
So I agree they have lot of health, and when you don’t have an efficient build it can take quite some time, but I don’t want them to reduce their health for when I face them with efficient build I would kill them in 10 sec, like I do in other ARPG. I don’t want that at all. I want to enjoy the boss fight, his pattern etc … even when my character is maxed out.

Someone told me that bosses have dynamic DR.
Meaning, if you do high dmg to a boss, then you get a penalty.
Is this a myth or true?
If so, i dont like it, because it feels not rewarding to invest in a dps char
