To add onto what DJ said, a good rule of thumb is “+X%” is additive, (5% base + 100% from consuming Flow = 105% or guaranteed Crit) but “increased by X%” is multiplicative (5% base ×
(1+100%) = 10% chance)
The plus sign is the key!
Edit: there are also “increase your base Crit Chance by +X%” which applies to the base Crit. I assume if it doesn’t say base it applies to the current Crit Chance after other modifiers but it’s likely that it always applies to base Crit Chance and EHG is just inconsistent in their descriptions lol

back after a few days of testing:
- Fifth flow is indeed a garanteed crit. That being said, it felt clunky. A huge complex rotation might be accepted on bosses, but we need something simpler to clear trash. non crit Mirage is not enough, so flow is always needed… I definitely couldn’t play that.
- Bleed is a much weaker version. We can put lots of bleed, but damage is SO MUCH lower than shadow daggers proc with penumbra, or direct mirage damage. Granted, I didn’t try with salt the wound, but the difference was so huge that it didn’t feel worth spending more time trying to optimise a bleed version. Plus, the bleed ramp up required to keep shift autocrit node. I hoped Rive node would be enough to garantee a crit, but it wasn’t the case on trash. And no crit meant not enough damage, even for low life trash.
- synchronised strike is obviously better for burst damage, but the mana management is hard. It shines at lower difficulties, where 2 rotations will be enough to kill the boss. After that point, it felt that somke bomb was almost equivalent in sustained damage, but adding way more survival tools.
- While low life is always an option thanks to Death door passive, using the new ward chest (wall of nothing) didn’t really work. I couldn’t denerate enough ward to compensate the damage reduction of titan heart / null portent
