Bets of the fools (Season 02)

With the amount of changes coming to the new season, we don’t know exactly the effects and the amount of powercreep that it will have. Probably a lot… but how much? And more importantly, how do you think YOU will fare in that fresh environment?

I’d like to propose a little game that will allow us to laugh at ourselves and see how wrong we were when the dust will settle at the end of the season.

Rules are simple :

You list some parameters (from the list bellow or your own) and you write how you think you will ‘perform’ this season. It’s not a competition with anyone but yourself. No pressure, no prizes, just an opportunity to be a fool in front of the class. This idea works best in the seasonal fresh playground but if standard players manifest their interest, please suggest categories that makes more sense for you.

I will compile the participants and their ‘bets’ in the post below. At the end of season, we look back at it and accept that we were fools.

Let’s please agree on a format that I can easily copy and paste :

[Your name] (season or standard?)
-Parameter 1 : how you will do.
-Parameter 2 : how you will do (with a little message to yourself, or any added context if you want)

Example :
[Bob] (seasonal)
-Gold : A billion
-Number of Red rings : A billion too (come on future Bob, you can do it!)

I use the hyphen (-) but no space after. I don’t like the automatic bullet point list since it takes a lot of space.

Here’s some brainstorming for those possible bets. Pick the ones that inspires you (or make your own) and leave the rest! I’ll add your suggestions to this list.

-Gold (how much gold at the end of season?)
-Stashtabs (how many?)
-Affix shards collected
-Mostly used faction
-Highest character level
-Number of top levels (how many level 100 characters?)
-Highest corruption completed
-Highest number of LP on an item
-Dreamed item acquired (which item you’re aiming to acquire, how many LP, which affixes slammed, etc.)
-Number of Red Rings
-Fastest SCF speedrun for passives and idols (15/8)
-Fastest SCF speedrun of full campaign (+1 from majasa)
-Fastest SCF speedrun to Empowered
-Fastest non-SCF speedrun with one of the goal line above
-Hours played (note your played time at launch to be able to compare)
-Hardcore deaths count (oof)
-Softcore deaths count

Season 02 (17th april 2025 to ____)

-Stashtabs : 90 (please surprise me and be less of an hoarder this time ok?)
-Affix shards : 70k
-Number of top levels : 4
-Highest corruption completed : 850
-Dreamed item acquired : Shattered Worlds, 1LP (T7 Crit chance) and high roll on frenzy effect
-Hours played : 1630 hours right now to 1900 hours at the end of season
-Fastest SCF speedrun to Empowered : 6 hours
-Fastest non-SCF speedrun to Empowered : 55 minutes
-Hardcore deaths : 3 (trying Ziz race a few times and then give up; classic me)
-Softcore deaths : 450 (really curious about this one!)

Your singular post made me realize that despite being here for 6 years and playing the game when it looked like playdough, I am an absolute noob holy shit.

Don’t be fooled (hum…), my predictions are very optimistic. Especially the speedruns!
And I’m counting on a big powercreep with the new crafting options; or at least, a raise of the powerlevel floor in endgame. Everyone will have an easier access to endgame content. Even me, even you. :wink:

We will likely have some power creep set in, especially when you consider the difficulty curve for uber aby. However, that power creep should be offset a little by the slight global increase to mob difficulty.
