I also would not say that the overall difficulty did increase that much.
The very early story got a bit mroe challenging with some of the new encounters, but generally the story is kinda the same difficulty wise and no more difficulty spikes at Chapter 7/8/9
I am not sure, i never encountered that for rare mobs, just āBossesā to reset now with the new patch.
Everything @XLVI_carpo asked are interesteing questions.
i think the 2 most important ones would be, is that a new or old character? And did you reallocate your passvie points? (That is a common thing alot of people didnāt see when they first logged in)
compared to other games i think its too easy overall but still ok.
GD is way harder, and we donāt have to talk about PoE.
The arena difficulty means nothing because it is completely arbitrary. There has to be a certain limit. no one wants to do 1000 waves before it ramps up in difficulty.
Personally i was never a big fan of all the difficulty level approaches from the other big arpgs.
PoE continued the d2 approach with normal, cruel, merciless and changed it to a single playthrough with scaling difficulty which imo was their best implementation yet. Grim Dawn did the same, changed it later so that people can start from ultimate difficutly to prevent playing the campaign 3 times in a row. D3 has probably the worst system with their torment difficulties by just adding a higher level once they realize, people can build stronger characters.
I think the best way you can do is just by telling the devs when you realize that the game is getting easier/harder, so that they can look over certain numbers on classes/skills/bosses and so on to balance around it. But just adding different difficulty levels like in d3 is the wrong approach, and i certainly donāt want to play through the campaign another 2 times after finishing the first one
