As title said I am very fresh to the game, was trying to find beginner section of the forum where I could ask things I don`t understand, so forgive me for asking stupid question.
My question is very simple: when starting with Acolyte which I did many times should I prioritize spell damage which I mostly did or stats on the weapon like damage numbers, spell damage etc.
In my runs I did look for higher spell damage but I was wondering am I doing it right?
For example right now during leveling I have 14 spell damage on two handed yellow staff but I have unique wand with 3 spell damage but bunch of good minion stats, I never knew what is better for me…

That will depend on what skills you’re using.
If you’re using minions, that’s what you want to focus on, especially giving them flat damage (either spell or melee, depending on the minion).
If you’re using Harvest, you want to find a good weapon with high flat melee damage.
If you’re using a spell, you want to find a weapon with high flat spell damage.
Early on, your flat damage sources are very few, so a good weapon with a high flat damage source will do wonders for your skills. Having just 2 falt damage with 500% increased damage will just give you 10 damage, whereas +8 flat and 100% increased will give you 20.
If you’re running minions as your DPS, then spell/melee damage will do nothing for you. You’ll want minion damage, minion spell/melee damage (again, depending on the minions), minion health, etc.
If it doesn’t say minion in it, it won’t affect them.
