After using the Bazaar for some time now, there are a couple of immediate problems I was faced with which I think would make the trading experience a lot nicer if changed a little.
1: You can only search for specific tiers for all of the affixes you choose.
Fix: Make us able to set tier ranges for each affix of our choosing if multiples are chosen.
2: You can not search for specific ranges.
Fix: Make us be able to set a min & max value of affix ranges for each affix of our choosing if multiple are chosen.
3: Implicits, prefixes and suffixes are all bundled together under the same category âAFFIXESâ
Fix: Remove the Subtype Filtering, and make a dropdown bar for Implicits, Prefixes and suffixes for a more customizable experience with less friction for the player.
4: You canât see what tier affixes are on items that are listed.
Fix: Make us be able to hover over an item, press alt, and have whatever item you hover your mouse over display its tiers, just like we can do in our own intentory.
Search filters - not enough options, it looks like the current version is based on a beta with 100 items. but now when market is flooded with thousands and thousands of items, finding what you need is just impossible
bad design with many merchants (just why),
with unclaimed junk items that will never be bought and so on.
Just a mockery of the players.
hope they will do smth to this
I agree with your points 1 and 2. Iâm not sure about changing how bases are handled though. There arenât that many per item type, even fewer relevant at a given level for a given build, so in which cases would your point 3. be useful?
Additionally, idols need to have a filter by base like normal items. Some affixes can be found on several different shapes of idols and itâs horrible to filter through, especially when the icons for Large and Huge look so similar.
They need to do something about junk on the market. Itâs bound to bog it down. I had lots of issues with the Bazaar today, and I wonder if the e.g. 56000 pages of idols arenât part of the problem⌠I think a simple limit on the number of offers a player can have up at any given time should be set. This will push people to reconsider what is junk and what is worth selling, and lighten up the market.
Also, I noticed the search function is not very smart, and restarts from zero each time you refine a criterion. For example, I was searching for a given base with a given affix. Then I simply added a criterion: rare items. It took for ever to filter despite that the initial results were only 9 pages of items. This makes me think it threw out the results of the initial filter and started anew, even though the new filtered items are a subset of the previous. Not very good CS-manship.
I think a simple fix for many issues for now is really setting a limit to the number of offers you can put up on the market.
This will reduce junk to sift through so, even if the search function is subpar, itâll be faster to find something relevant.
This will no doubt reduce âThe Bazaar is having issues at the momentâ and speed up searching, not to mention save them money. Iâd be curious to know what percent of the servers compute power is being spent on this huge database of junk versus handling the rest of the game.
People complain about lack of meaningful rewards for ranking up in the MG, just give them additional offer spots.
I think 10 (level 0) to 20 (max rank) offers per player would be fine as a limit.
Agree with a lot of these. The bazaar is a great start currently, but there can definitely be some improvements esp with more specific affix filters. Itâd be nice to specify tiers for each affix youâre looking for
Agreed on all of those points, very important things for clarity and functionality. Those all should be baseline in the game.
I want to add something else: Entire affixes for specific items are completely missing in the search functionality.
It was about the affixes on those bases.
Currently the sorting goes by âtypeâ of affix, a very unintuitive method to handle it.
The suggestion is based on choosing âprefix/suffixâ first and then getting a comprehensive scrolldown list, the specific different types can have their own little header to make it even easier to read, opening a menu to browse through over a dozen dropdown to find the right one is not straightforward and quick.
Basically user-friendly design is needed.
Yeah, donât enforce to list items for faction progression and that issue is solved.
Next up make it not cost anything to re-price items and itâs fully solved. Old listings donât matter in that case since theyâll be filtered out automatically.
That demands proper filtering options first and foremost though.
Yes, the current search system for the database is very shoddy, you can actively see how the system works and it mandates a major rework as with proper function on the market and hence mass-searched the service will simply break down.
Heck⌠it has done that already in the current state, several times.
Agreed.
Also remove listing costs.
Make buyouts cost a gold-tax (natural gold sink)
Adjust favor prices to the rarity of items and the price.
A ânormalâ and properly done system simply.
10 as a start is fine, max rank should be at least 200 though, even currently from a day of playing I manage to get 20+ worthwhile listings, reducing it so heavily will mess majorly with the functionality of the market by reducing the availability of exalted items.
The missing affixes should be added even during 1.0, thatâs not design but a bug and been known since Day 1. Itâs shoddy work in that regard, it necessitates a quick-fix.
Probably. However, if theyâre already in the process of remaking the UI, itâs harder to roll back those things to fix this issue and then return to the changes than it is to simply finish the reworking and release that when itâs ready.
From Mikeâs statement in his stream, the UI will get a lot of QoL added to it and I expect it will be a significant revamp.
Iâll also add:
-Sold tab should have an option to filter unredeemed items, rather than having to hunt them down in multiple pages (would be ok if it was just a sort);
-We should have an option to just dismiss sold items and not have to look at them all.
Rather have the unclaimed ones and a log of sold items extra⌠nigh nobody cares about that log anyway, at best for quite specific items since the sorting functionality to make any statistics according to it is missing anyway.
