Barrage of pain not triggering from flurry or procced multishots

Barrage of pain in the marksman passive tree, will not do stacks from flurry shots (with bow). Neither does it stack up from procced multishot.
It will only show on initial shot, then disappear.

It does however stack up to 5 if you do shift(!) continuely or use shurikens.
