Ballista

Seems like the ballista skill sets itself apart from other rogue skills in a fun way, which is cool. On the other hand though there is something about how it plays that also seems noticeably odd.

Currently ballista is this: Click the skill and conjure a turret at cursor location. Apart from how it knows where to fire projectiles the oddity I guess being how it appears out of thin air and at any location.

I wonder if it’d make more sense for her to instead to construct the ballista within arm’s reach and set its firing mechanism in motion herself. Or maybe have them operated by her shadows after she moves away to keep on theme etc. Food for thought

The shadows thing would actually be kind of cool. You could even add a unique that do things with this or nodes in ballista like in Shadow Cascade that give you a certain damage for exact numbers of shadows. Or like an artillery brigade, if you’ve got two shadows manning the gun, it boots cooldown or three shadows and it boosts cooldown and accuracy (crit chance) and at four shadows it adds extra damage.

Yeah it seems like a possibility with a foot already in the door maybe. Having something like that crossbow mercenary might even fill the same niche too if not a little differently. Like a mobile ballista in the form of a rogue crew member that maybe fires different types of bolts on command or sets down its own extra turrets
