Ballista Damage

Hello everyone. Today I would like to discuss the damage of the ballista, especially when we take a node to increase the damage of the character. Let’s say we took this node in two and have +50% from the character’s damage modifiers. The ballista has the tags physical and bow, which means that the character’s damage from the bow and physical damage will affect the ballista.

It is worth noting here that all added damage for the bow will be applied to the formula, even if it is not physical!
But it is also worth noting that only the increased physical damage for the bow will be applied to the formula!

Here is the formula for calculating the damage of any skill. (Just a reminder)
Dmg=((base+(added X eff add dmg)) X (1+incr+incr…) X (1+more) X (1+more)…

And let’s say we have the following values:

Base damage=40
Added damage for ballista (or bow minion damage)=38
Added cold bow damage (character)=90
Added physical bow damage (character)=5
Added bow damage (character)=30

Added damage efficiency=200%

Increased bow minion damage=155%
Increased damage from agility. (4 percent for each point of agility)=360%
Increased physical bow damage=253%

More damage= -15% (here we will calculate with a minus value, to make it more interesting)
More damage = 33% (Minion Power From Character Level. 33% will be if you have level 80)
More damage = 50% (I took this value from the site, because in the game nothing is indicated about it)

Now, if we want to apply all these values in the formula, taking the node +2, we get the following:
Dmg = ((40 + (38 + 90 / 2 + 5 / 2 + 30 / 2) * 200%)) * (1 + 155% + 360% + 253% / 2) * (1 + (-15%) * (1 + 33%) * (1 + 50%)
It will be wrong if we calculate in percentages, so we will translate into decimal system.
Dmg = ((40 + (38 + 90 / 2 + 5 / 2 + 30 / 2) * 2)) * (1 + 1.55 + 3.6 + 2.53 / 2) * (1 - 0.15) * (1 + 0.33) * (1 + 0.5)

I hope that this example will help you in the future and you will easily calculate the damage yourself playing not only on the ballista, but also with other minions.

At the moment, I do not have much time and I have checked this formula only with three items.

Mourningfrost Boots
Zeurial’s Hunt Quiver
Troaka’s Teeth Quiver

And with the first two items, everything is fine. But with Troaka’s Teeth, the damage in the game is slightly more than if you count it with the formula.
Most likely, the damage in the game on the quiver is actually more than indicated in the description. Perhaps the reason is something else, but so far I have not found it. In any case, I I will continue to experiment.

It won’t be wrong, it doesn’t make any (mathematical) difference, though it’s probably easier to type it into a calculator/excel.

The only other thing I’d mention is that you’re applying the % increased damage modifiers incorrectly, they still need to respect the element of the flat damage they are affecting. So the % increased physical damage modifier won’t, or shouldn’t, affect the flat cold damage.

It would also help if you specified the nodes you’re talking about (Shared Enhancements).
