Balance between usable good drop vs crafting seem heavily craft favored

I think LE crafting is not bad. Initially, I was blown away, but the more I play the less I am fond of it.
The main problem is, I think its too good, & too easy to craft decent gears than having good drops. Maybe I am wrong, but I prefer a more balance in loot, where you can realistically get good drop with minimum crafting or at all.

PoE somewhat balances crafting by big S price tag on Metacrafting (end game crafting) as well as make sure the numerical value of craft affix is a few tier lower top tier on drops.

Also making more affix found only in drops & not craftable will spice things up as well.

Craftin in PoE is absolutely bonkers and mandatory. Same goes for LE and I’m absolutely happy to be able to craft stuff that compliments my build. I see 0 issues in crafting been a good/better way to achive stuff.

Granted, you are right about PoE, end game is BiS uniques or Metacraft gears.

I have no issue with crafting better, but it is SO MUCH better, that make drops silly. When find white & blue are better than yellow, I think we have a loot issue.

It’s rng… I found some 4 affix items as well that offered everything I wan’t on the item… was like christmas. I think it’s completely fine to have the opportunity to make something descent out of a blue item instead of lootfilter it out of existence.

I think quite a few of us had made similar observations. Other perspective of this problem you’re alluding to is that it completely kills the big dopamine effect when a good random loot drops for you - this basically doesn’t happen in LE.

In most ARPGs, this is basically what you’re chasing for and allows you to grind for hours on end. But in LE, because this is absent, most of the character improvement comes from the slow grind of getting slightly better and better gears through crafting. Which makes it a lot harder to make someone say “just one more monolith” hoping somehow that monolith might just be the lucky one to give that big fat loot.

Exalted items are supposed to be the current devs solution to this. But personally they haven’t been much of a motivator for me.

To be fair, they improved loot VASTLY with this patch.

Base items and affix drops are way better.
Also some of the new rogue affixes are really exciting, because they have very powerfull affects on T6 and T7 (like +1 Mirages or +1 Max Ballista)

While i agree with the overall issue, the devs clearly know about it and working on it.

I suggest you play alot more endgame with the new patch. It is a really big difference.

We are clearly heading into the right direction!
