Bad synergy between skill tree and skill level on gear

I find it frustrating that if i have “+ levels to skill” on gear whenever i remove the gear the choices i made on the skill tree are changed/removed, and when i put the gear back on the skill tree changes are not undone. I would prefer it if the extra points were deactivated when i remove the gear granting me skill level and reactivated when i put it back.

I played for many hours without realizing my skill choices had changed because i removed my helm briefly to craft on it. I was just running around wondering why i felt weaker. Once i found out what happened I had trouble figuring out which points were removed, because it was not based on which points i had last spent. Overall not a great feeling. Please do something about it.

On a positive note, very much enjoying the game, please keep up the improvements.

Completely agree. The skill should remember what nodes where assigned and immediately re-assign them when the +level to skill is re-equipped. They probably didn’t implement this to avoid the case where the item is replaced and the skill gains a point by lvling. In that case you might want to assign the point differently. So either only auto-assign points when they’re gained from items or add an auto-assign button to turn this off.

Yeah, that would make way more sense.
Even tho I can imagine some players have a stash with their +skill level premades for specific classes? Idk… as the comment above said, make it an option.
