Awesome work. Thanks!
Nice set so far. Just need more melee oriented avatars.
Any in particular youād like to suggest?
Tempest, Swipe, and Void Blade have some nice icons. Rive, Enchant Weapon, and Mana Strike are variations on the same theme.
Iāll see about including a row of icons focused on melee the next time I update the library.
Appreciate the suggestions!
Anything with a face / character on it would be nice, although I think all of the current pets and such are in already. All 20 of the Class symbols (the bases and the outers) would be good as well, for people who want to show their main loyalty.
Thanks for the feedback!
Iāve spoken with the team about kidnapping an artist, and the response was āmaybe one day.ā I am wondering if the implementation of quests will lead to NPC portraits suitable for inclusion in the library. Until the Rogueās appearance is 100% set in stone, it doesnāt make sense to have an artist create art for her only for it to possibly need to be redone later.
I originally included the class icons, but removed them for a few reasons. Their transparent background didnāt look great. A bigger problem was that theyāre fundamentally busier images than our skill art and scaling them down so much made them look a lot worse. The skill art is designed to be seen at approximately this size, so doesnāt usually have that problem.
I do definitely agree with the need for human portraits and the desire to have some way of representing a class - myself and the Game Director were literally discussing this at 5:30 am this morning. Just a matter of trying to balance being economical with keeping the images suitable. As I said, Iāll see what happens when Chapter Oneās quests are done.
No Eterraās Blessing Icon? D:
I never got used to thatā¦ when I think of you, I think of the old Ice Ward icon.
That one would work too
Any discussion about custom avatar options?
Well the good news is that itās definitely feasible - our (EHGās) own avatars are proof of this.
Thereās two possible ways for that to go down. The first is a relatively small fee where we take an existing image, attempt to check it for potential copyright issues, then set it as your avatar. The second is a significantly more expensive option where we have an artist create an image based on your description and feedback.
I assume youāre talking about the latter. While weāve quite a large art team - compared to the rest of the company - that team is comprised of people working on animations, skill visual effects, concept art, and so on. It wouldnāt be a matter of just having anyone on the team available so much as needing to assign someone in particular - likely the same person who created most of our skill art. Unfortunately I donāt know when heād have the time to work on multiple custom avatars (and potentially multiple drafts of each, at that).
I can see us discussing avatars for potential inclusion in future supporter packs. While Iāll bring this up at our next meeting, I canāt see us acting on anything prior to that.
I am happy to wait for future support packs bundling custome design avatars. But for the former? I assume that would be relatively straightforward to implement. How much would that cost? I like my avatar unique (to a certain extent)
Hallo, will you continue to expand the library of avatars with skill images or, if feasible now, class or mastery images?
Hey, I saw, but that was written in 2018. Iām sure there is much more available right now that can be added, so I wanted to send a friendly reminder.
My top two requests:
and
Yeah! Letās Necro that thread! Itās absolutely time to have new Avatars. Iām sick if having to look like @TriKster. And that dude just doesnāt change his damn avatar! I wonāt either as long as there arenāt more options!
I did all a favour by changing my badge, soā¦i love u too sweety
