Auto Pickup Glyphs, Shards and Woven Echos

Why not make Shards, Glyphs and woven echos pickup automatically. There is no limit on storing these, so why keep them clickable in first place. Lot of time in fights this is a distraction

Use the search fuction and pick any of the topics the devs made excuses why some items should be picked up manualy even when a big vocal part of the playerbase want them auto picked up.

I don’t care so much about it because I am used to the strange descissions EHG is making. I don’t care because they have some troubble to implement and remove systems players laike/dislike. They often stated their reason why they do so and I still don’t belive it.

Sadly you are most likely on a lost cause BUT I whish they finaly implement this so we don’t get another dozen topics on the matter and EHG finaly gets it.

Just because you disagree with them doesn’t make their viewpoint (which I disagree with) an excuse.

Didin’t they say they change stuff if people want it pretty much? Like after they said there will be no trading just to implement trading then? I’m far to lazy to search for it right now but I think irc.

Why I think they make excuses is that there is some technical issue they coded that would take to long to unmake and they keep it it in the limbo state of “people want auto pickup what should we say?”. Outside of this there is obviously the “No fun allowed here!” scenario or the “We don’t care what you want that’s our game!” approach and many more. Excuses to me are the least troubblesome idea I can get about this ^^.

Yeah, I think there’s always going to be an element of this that feeds in to their decisions on whether to implement stuff the community wants. But that’s not unreasonable & doesn’t mean that tjeir coders are incompetent.

I don’t think this is ever a thing. People say it when they don’t like the devs viewpoint.

This is also not an unreasonable point of view, if devs made every change that anyone requested then a game would become a horrific mishmash.

They had trading stated from the kickstarter times already. So when they went along to state ‘we won’t make trade’ people lost their shit for good reason… so EHG had to backpedal there.

But I get what you mean… it’s really ‘off’ which things are changed and which stay the same, there is absolutely no consistency related to impact on the game and wants from the playerbase.

We can always say ‘it’s an excuse’ or ‘its a reasonable argument’… but plainly spoken that’s not how it should even be tackled. Pro/Con measurements rather then the approach of ‘we have a single thing standing for/against it so we do/don’t do it.’

There’s a lot of negatives for mastery respec, there’s extremely little for auto-pickup of mass-gathered materials. And for Boss Ward for example it was absolute wasted time since it shifted one issue to another, where the major issue could’ve been solved via ‘We count leech values before DR happens’ and that would’ve been it.

It’s simply ‘all over the place’.

That’s one point. There are little to no downsides to auto pickup. Some people who said “I look at xyz that is dropping I don’t want it to be automated.” who also streamed never looked at any crafting shard when I watched their videos or streams. I always thought people are full of it when theybrought that point up but seeing it was kind of fun.
They can even make it optional for people who care about looking at meaningless stuff.

Back in the day I’m 100% sure the devs got negative feedback about boss ward while testing and still put it into the game.

I’m completely fine if the devs want to ignore stuff that people want again and again and again because after all they do what they do with their product. I just simply opt out using it. If I knew everything about LE back in the I won’t have spent a minute or a cent on it but that’s easy to say as an afterthought. Looking at my past experiences and how the game changed over time I don’t think there will be much after the next addon if EHG stays in their tracks.

A few patches ago automatic shard transfer was added into the game. Before we had to regularly open up the inventory, click the “Transfer to forge” button, and close the inventory. Three extra buttons. Also shards couldn’t be picked up, if inventory was full, which was really annoying. You can still enable that behavior in the options to feel, how miserable it was.

Many people asked for shard autotransfer, but EHG were against it. And when we finally had it, it was received very positively, definitely was the best QoL change of the patch.

So why don’t add an option to change the behavior for autopickup too? If you don’t want it, turn it off, that’s it. For me and many other players autopickup will make the game more enjoyable, it’s one of the most asked features.
