Hello all.
I have screen with size 1920x1080 and i really too tired to сlick on the small inscriptions on the so big screen. This is very exhausting for any human. And very often aoe damage from sky or from the monsters not allows to fast pick up needed items. Devs please add auto picking up to this game. Need optional function with it wich can automatically pick up all items from lootfilter plus crafting materials or pick up all items with some button.
If somebody agrees with this suggestion please press like and vote for it.
Great idea!
I wonder why nobody ever thought of that before.
Exactly! This really has never been suggested before! It’s such a novel idea! Untill your inventory gets too full because you were too lazy to do a loot filter.
1920x1080 is “so big screen”? I thought that was just standard at this point. What does that make my 2560x1440 (on which I have no issues reading anything, not exhausted at all, maybe I’m not human?)?
Yeah, we know that…
And yes, 1080 has been standard for well over a decade at this point. Maybe he just needs glasses, no shame in that.
Does that mean that devs in disguise aren’t human or is that just me?

What if I pick items for potential trading value? Then it’ll get full. So, why should that be an issue hence? That’s normal.
Why should I individually pick up the items which is not only tedious and offers no distinct gameplay functionality when there can be a function to AoE pickup? It has no meaning, you’ve already seen that stuff dropped, your drop-dopamine has happened. Also it’s good against RSI.
And don’t tell me the functionality of not allowing to pick up too much isn’t there… that would be laughable since EHG has a check function to discern when you try to pick up items and there’s no space. All it needs to do is go 1 by 1 through the whole list of potential pickups and fit those which fit.
It has no meaning, you’ve already seen that stuff dropped, your drop-dopamine has happened.
Your drop dopamine only kicks in when you actually look at the item and evaluate it. With autopickup, you don’t care, anything that drops gets picked up and there’s no dopamine. You don’t actually have to make any decisions on whether it’s a good item or not and if you want to pick it up.
I agree with pickup for materials, not for gear. That goes against what makes a drop-based game good in the first place.
Very fair, but that’s why the shiny drops usually are highlighted nowadays, to bypass that aspect and achieve a very similar effect.
And I agree with automated full pickup without a need to do anything for materials… and an AoE effect pickup method for gear, if so desired.
And if it’s solely for RSI reasons.
Personally, I think the best way to go about it is how GD did, where you press the Alt key to pickup an item you’re close by. Or how Torchlight did it, which is similar only it prioritizes higher value loot first (in the case of LE it would be uniques, then exalteds, then rares, etc) and you have a decent distance for pickup radius.
This way you can still evaluate items on the ground, but you have a handy shortcut key to pick things up without needing to actually stop and click.
Your drop dopamine only kicks in when you actually look at the item and evaluate it.
Where is the difference if I look at an item on the floor or in my inventory when I actually look at it anyway? I don’t get that resoning and in LE I have 0 dopamine hits from drops because:
A: I look at an unique and it has low LP aka trash
B: I look at an exalted itam and it has 2 good and two bad stats and I know it’s 50/50 if it boosts me.
C: The Base is bad
D: I already have decent stuff so the item gives me nothing but getting dust in my chest
I can say it would not change my experience with LE loot if said loot is beamed into a certain chest storage to look at it after 2h of grinding or if I look at the item that lies on the floor that I then pickup to eventualy store it.
I’m not for a auto pickup system btw but at the end of the day it changes nothing. Right now for example I play Borderlands. 99.9% of items I look at are trash so I simply stopped looking at most items and just shoot stuff because it’s fun. Same goes for LE. At a certain point I don’t give a rats behind anymore because the chances of getting something I need and want are so slim I can rest asured I didn’t miss a thing.
So no dopamine no matter what .
BTW a system I like to a certain degree is the Hero Siege attempt. You see an item highlighted by your lootfilter and you simply press F to pick it up walking by. This works more less because the Lootfilter there is a shitshow but I don’t see any gains in mouseover an item to click it to pick up ot to move close enough to pick it up by clicking a button.
At the end of the day I’m not unhappy with LE and I deal with it in PoE for example it’s completely different. I hate it when I need to backtrack the whole map to get every highlighted item because I wasn’t able to pick it up because I was constantly fighting. The mob density in LE allows to stop every now and then to pick stuff up at least.
Where is the difference if I look at an item on the floor or in my inventory when I actually look at it anyway?
When you get a really good drop (let’s go extreme and say an impossible 4LP red ring drops), if you look at it before picking it up, because you’re evaluating your drops into good/trash to know if you pick them up, you get a huge dopamine hit.
If, however, you’re simply looking at a full inventory/stash tab full of random stuff you picked up without even bothering what it was, the dopamine hit is much lower.
At least, that’s the way it works for me. But I do admit that I’m a CoF player and what I most enjoy about these games are the moments when something good does drop. Finding it later in a pile of stuff doesn’t have the same impact for me.

Yeah, that’s a similar system to Torchlight Inifinite (although they use the A key instead) and both are inspired by GD, I believe. That’s fine for me.

Then I’m very different then other people because I prefer to be able to take my time and look at loot in peace. Sure a 3LP+ drop is always nice but I still simply pick the item up without a close look because it only slows my progress down to do so.
At the end of the day I get most out is making a legendary that realy get the numbers on it that I want on it because outside of that most items are just cluttering my storage untill then or I already wear them.
Well, as I’ve said before, we’re going to get autotransfer before autopickup for shards (unless we get both next season, but I doubt that). On yesterday’s stream, Mike teased autotransfer for shards, runes, glyphs and keys (plus a new resource we’re getting apparently).
Or how Torchlight did it, which is similar only it prioritizes higher value loot first
Yes, I also think that would be one of the best directions.
As well as the material pickup unless it’s a specific valuable material.
Where is the difference if I look at an item on the floor or in my inventory when I actually look at it anyway?
There is none.
It’s about actually hovering over it and taking it in rather then blindly pressing a button.
we’re going to get autotransfer before autopickup for shards
Plainly spoken we should get both.
Autotransfer not existing is a menace, a massive detriment for the QoL of the game actually as it serves no function at all in the current state.
And autopickup for shards has no major downsides of any kind since their value is extremely low. As mentioned in some threads before not picking up rare shards automatically would suffice.
I remember when I played MMORPG, you could buy a pet for a donation that would carry everything into your backpack. Considering that there is a filter in the game, your pet can use it too. I don’t mind spending 5 bucks for such an opportunity, just enter this and take my money.
Nope, get out of here with that.
No - no matter how small - functional upgrades tha influence gameplay itself via money. It was promised to the playerbase to never happen and it’s generally a really dumb decision to lock the highest avoidable RSI issue in the genre behind a money-wall.
There’s many reasons why I would stop playing the game either for a while or permanently.
There’s few reasons why I would stop playing the game while actively telling everyone to stay the heck away from it and spread it around to other friends too. P2W, P2progress or any sort of that falls into the category.
Suggested many times, answered many times.
Mike has always said that if they were to ever implement a pet autopickup system, everyone would get a pet for free so they could have access to it. Like Kulze said, paying to get in-game advantages won’t happen in this game.
That being said, Mike has also said he doesn’t see a good reason for pets to autopickup gold or crafting materials, let alone loot. So I wouldn’t hold my breath on that either.
