When you turn on Aura Of Decay and then swap to a different skill in that skill slot, it stays on, allowing you to use 6 skills. I expect it to turn off when I swap it 
There is snapshotting happening with AoD, if you take Poison Bolt, use AoD and then respec out of Poison Bolt AoD will continue firing poison bolts until you recast it.
This is also causing an inconsistency with Reaper Form’s Venomous Coating as AoD cast during Reaper form will always maintain 6 stacks of self-poison (due to the 30% increased duration) while AoD cast outside of Reaper Form will never reach 6, even while in Reaper Form. Which means if you want to benefit from the increased poison duration you have to cast AoD when you are in Reaper Form.
Yeah, this a known issue with skills snapshotting as kalanar says.
