I just noticed something as I was leveling my Lich. I am currently using Aura of Decay and when my skill leveled up I put my next point into Icarian Poison. I immediately noticed a difference in damage. But the amount of poison I received didn’t change. I didn’t think anything of it since I thought it was only +5% increased self frequency and didn’t realize it was cumulative. After I died though I immediately noticed the difference and the self frequency of poison stacks quickly added up and I kept dying. I’m fairly certain if you spec into Icarian Poison while still alive and Aura of Decay is up you do not get the debuff of self frequency, but gain the bonus of enemy frequency. I cannot say for certain as it’s only happened once. I will try again on my next level up. It seems though you keep this bugged bonus until you die or I’m assuming you relog.
Can confirm it works as I said. If you have Aura of Decay on, then skill a point into Icarian Poison or even Poisoned Soul, you gain the ailment frequency against monsters, but not against yourself. At least until you die.
