Originally I had posted this in the bug reports in your Discord under the audio tag. You then reworked the bug report system and removed the option to report things regarding Audio… So I’m now on the forums to retype my post…
There were a few other posts about this but the issues were slightly different from mine, on my original post someone else did say they were experiencing this. Here is the run down.
When I first launched the game earlier in the day it showed all of my different audio devices listed in game.
-I selected the Windows default output that I use, and I had no in game sound.
-I restarted the game then it changed from listing the devices to saying “NoSound Driver”
-My sound is functioning normally outside of the Last Epoch (in browsers, in Windows, in other games, etc)
-I use VoiceMeter Banana as a virtual mixer to send audio to my streaming PC over my network (as well as to playback audio in my headphones)
-I restarted my system and did not turn on VM Banana thinking that may be causing the confusion, there was no change in Last Epoch, still ‘NoSound Driver’
-Browsed through %appdata% local and roaming to see if there were any local config files, went through the local game install to look there for config files I could edit and manually enter the device information but found nothing
-Verified integrity of game cache, no change
-Unsure of how to proceed other than posting here, here are some details for my system, I can provide a dxdiage if it helps:
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19045) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Model: X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI
BIOS: F36a (type: UEFI)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
Memory: 32768MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
-One thing I did notice in the DxDiag notes was the following:
Sound Tab 1: The file vbaudio_cable64_win7.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft’s Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo’d driver from the hardware manufacturer.
Sound Tab 2: No problems found.
Sound Tab 3: No problems found.
Sound Tab 4: No problems found.
Input Tab: No problems found.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and let me know if I can provide any additional information.
