Always did in the past anyway. It appears AFTER you speak to Ezra, if it helps.
just wondered this myself. i didnt have a choice on this new char. could only get the gloves.
the other dude was never interested in the ledger this time around. weird.

I checked him before I talked to Erza, after I talked to Erza, before and after accepting the Erza quest, first coming into the chamber, after leaving and coming back, after picking up the ledger. Still haven’t turned it in but can’t get the quest to pop.

Same thing happened to me the other day and I had to choose the gloves also.

I have the opposite problem, I gave the ledger to erza and I’ve been stuck with the other quest ever since
The same thing happened to me! I got the gloves on my first character, my second character bugged out because I read the journal this time and now forever have a question marker on where the journal was previously after I already picked it up! On my third character I now don’t even have the option to turn in the ledger to Artem the Gambler after picking up the journal without reading it! Maybe the rumors are correct and they removed the ability to get the Gambler’s Fallacy necklace and my second character was a victim of the transition? I started playing after the game officially came out a few days ago, but did notice there was an update shortly thereafter. The plot thickens…
