Arena is marked as finished after killing Winged Carrion but not before Carrion Worm

Was doing an arena wave and the last enemy I was fighting was a Winged Carrion. Once it died, the Carrion Worm spawned and started fighting but so did the loot barrels and the popup offering to continue. Not sure if this was intended or if it can affect other monsters that spawn monsters on death.

Also may have gotten the monster names wrong.

Just caught this in an echo Arena as well. I got the prompt to summon the portal and leave between the death of the Winged Carrion and the spawn of the Carrion Worm.
