Can someone explain what the difference is?
I am lvl 83 and everywhere I go it says Area Level 83 in the top right corner, even when I enter an echo that is lvl 90, or if I enter one that is 58, so what level am I in or is it both?
The “safe area” in monoliths (where you have the monolith device) always scales to your level. It’s only there because you need an area level. It’s not relevant because you can’t fight there.
When you enter the echoes themselves, the area level changes, though.
Yeah that is presumably the case, gear drops at higher levels etc. but it doesn’t say so though.
In the Monolith It says Monolith, when I enter an Echo it says that Echo’s name along with area scaled which, in that case, is highly confusing/deceiving (edit: inside a Tomb inside that Echo it says level 90):
ok nvm this is clearly a bug.
Entered a Cemetery, said area level scaled 86 the entire instance right up until I went in to fight the Boss and it switched in front of my eyes to Area Level 90.
Reporting this in the bug forums instead.
Yeah, seems like it’s a bug of some sort. I tried it out and it didn’t happen to me, so might be some weird thing going on.
It’s always more helpful to use the in-game bug report tool. That sends a bunch of game data to the devs to help them figure things out.
