Are we ever going to get working stash tabs?

This is not a complaint about the online memory leaks/lags. I’ve already submitted a bug report, but I’m tired of dealing with this. Every time I start a new Legacy Offline character, some of my stash tabs go completely to shit; now it’s the ones tagged with Weaver’s Will. It wouldn’t be so bad if we could actually search for items that aren’t where you think they’re supposed to be.

Has anyone taken a look at how the offline stashes are stored? The characters are stored in simple JSON files, are the stashes the same? It’s one of the easiest file formats to parse, so I’m at a loss as to why this problem continues to come up. Just last week, I had to re-apply tab changes I made to (4) different characters; makes absolutely no sense.

UPDATE: I thought I’d fixed the issue by creating a blank category and moving the Weaver’s Will tabs over. This worked great, until I restarted the game and all of my tabs were in the wrong locations. This is frankly just beyond stupid at this point.

Are you playing full offline or the “fake” offline one? I’m playing full offline and I haven’t had an issue with tabs yet this season.
Do you have remove only tabs from previous seasons? I know you’re playing offline, but you can still create seasonal characters and some people do for the fresh start. I don’t have any and haven’t had any issues, so that might be something worth looking into.

I haven’t checked the stash files (no reason to, really) but I assume they’re JSON files as well.

I assume whatever is happening with the stash isn’t an easy fix, which is why it’s taking so long.
It’s also possible that the changes they’re working on for the stash makes this a non-issue and they want to release everything together. Although, if that will take much longer (I expect it will be part of next season), might as well just release a fix for it soon, since it’s an issue for many players.

I’d like to see a proper post mortem dev blog about issues with stash tabs if they ever fix it, because it is silly. Issue, that causes game to freeze for sometimes over 20 seconds and prompts windows to ask if i want to terminate or wait for this process and that issue isn’t fixed for weeks now. We are getting close to one month on sunday…

Makes you feal like the sold the game and do not give a shit anymore tbh!

I’m playing fake offline, mainly because I want to be to submit in-game bug reports. I haven’t played any online since I first installed the game during the 0.90 days. When I came back after a hiatus from 1.1, I was playing full offline SSF, so I really wasn’t using the stash much. After switching back to shared offline this season, the problems became apparent (again).

I’ve been having this problem off and on for years, not just recently. It’s happened whether I’m playing on Windows or (now) on Linux. But this is not the only issue I’ve had with stash management. When I removed all of my old SSF characters, LE did not remove their corresponding stashes. Since they’re inaccessible to other characters, I couldn’t understand see why they were still around. I moved them last night, no problems with the current stash.

Personally, I think LE needs to focus on fixing things like this that are affecting players the most. and putting most everything else aside. The stash has been a sore subject for so many of us (and for different reasons) that it needs to be bumped up to the top of the priority list (along with memory leaks, of course).

I would take Season 4: We Fixed It! over anything else EHG could come up with.

I’ll try to replicate your issues.

So far, I never had trouble with stash in offline, but I haven’t used any weaver’s will sorting yet.

They have added some parsing search for your stash, not sure where there is a documentation to explain it fully.

Yes, I’ve used this and it works well. But what I meant was using these search mechanics to find items in the entire stash, not just the current open tab. Kinda pointless to search this way if you have to manually switch to each tab.

You can expand sidebar and enter it there for all stash tabs. Only tabs that contain items matching your search will be listed. The downwards arrow with the three lines.

Wow - can’t believe I missed this. Thanks a bunch!

You’re welcome.

So, I just quickly created new stash tabs to sort in items with weaver’s will points with three ranges, and tried mixing them into categories with other tabs or their own category. I don’t see any weird behaviour after switching characters.

Tabs are still where they should be, and sorting rules don’t seem affected.

Wish I had the same luck. I tried to remove my “Don’t Remove” tab due to previous problems. When I restarted LE, the filled tabs were working as intended. But the “Don’t Remove” tab came back. As an FYI, this tab is my creation, not something LE created due to a season change. I only used the name “Don’t Remove” as using the old “WW” name caused all of its former tabs to be recreated there.

There is a master stash_tab file and then singular files for each stash tab.
I think they cross-reference each other, and they each have a .bak file.

Yes, I’ll have to check those out.

I still feel like this is an issue with extra stashes (not tabs). Namely having a stash for HC/SC, one for SASF/SCSF or especially the remove only tabs from previous seasons.

I think I never have tab issues because I’ve always only had the regular SC legacy stash and never had any seasonal one, HC or SSF modes, etc.

This could very well be the problem. When I deleted my SSF stashes, I actually only found orphaned tabs, not the actual stash.

Stash was fkn fine then they released the first “fix” patch not long ago and every 10 seconds in a tab that has more than 20 items - ie ring tabs it lags out completely for 5+ seconds it’s actually so infuriating its one of the reasons I’m done with s3
