Are both item nerfs and buffs retroactive?

And if so… How do you determine the new levels? Say I have +18% health on my pale ox. odes that automatically become +12% because I was maxed out? or is it random.

Also how are buffs determined if they are added retroactively?

What node? What skill? What? - Your life affix on your armor shouldn’t be affected by anything in your skill trees bro, sorry if I don’t understand what you’re asking completely

ITEMS… are ITEMS that are being nerfed or buffed going to be changed retroactively.

If yes how are the new levels going to be determined?

Ohhh - generally if the item is nerfed it’s going forward. Legacy in my experience the items remain the same, old, retro - least they did in POE - I haven’t played legacy here but in seasonal if you see a nerf in the notes in 1.4 it’ll be that way

I can’t remember for sure, but I believe they get changed and they get adjusted to the same percent of the roll you had. So if you had a max roll, you’ll keep the new max roll.

Not 100% sure on this, but you’ll find out in a few days anyway.

PS: It should also work both ways. Items that got buffed should also get changed, although stuff like the omnis going from +1 to +1/2 should mean they stay at +1.

At least some are being changed retroactively according to the patch notes, but I would assume those that aren’t specified will only be changed going forward.

Yup. In the background the item affix rolls are 0-100% of the min-max rolls of the affix tier, so it’s easy for them to change the affix tier values & every pre-existing item is automatically changed.
