Firstly I have to say great work on the new Armor sets and Weapon models, they look really good and really fit well into the game. Notably, I love the look of the Raven armor in acolyte and the Apocalypse + Leonine Armors in Sentinel.
I also have to appreciate the new models for the CoF and Merchant’s base item types. I would not have expected separate models for these items clearly meant to be a levelling placeholder. But they look really good (particularly the daggers and shield)
One Flaw I would have to point out is how it is really hard to justify wearing an item just for the looks rather than stats since this is an ARPG. This is notably apparent with the new CoF/MG items as while they have nice models, the base stats are just weaker copies of normal bases.
A transmog system (like the one in Grim Dawn) allowing you to change the appearance of armor with any others of the same base type you have found would be a great improvement for the character’s look and enhance the experience.
While I ,personally, would love a transmog system I think it would take away the point of having MTX cosmetics which limits the team’s ability to continue their live-service for the game.
I don’t think it would impact too much since you could only change between the 12 base armors for each class. Meanwhile the MTX cosmetics are much more flashy and would still retain their audience.
A lot of people also complain about not having cosmetics in offline so this could be a middle ground to appease those concerns too, so you have some control over your character’s looks.
I was thinking of a reason the dev’s wouldn’t implement transmog system besides it being a low priority since there’s been no mention of it at all. (AFAIK) I imagine that if one doesn’t like how their character looks then they want MTX to be the only option to change that.
With transmog even less people would be looking at MTX’s. Now all this being said I want transmog system also!
