Apostasy question

If Dodge chance > 50%, what does that do to your change to trigger glancing blow (assuming it’s at 0%)? Is it just ‘wasted’ points or does some other mechanic kick in? I ask as other things like bleed have affects at > 100%, not sure here though.

Thanks in advance.

Getting over 100% glancing blow is wasted.

Is that even possible anymore with the changes that came in 0.7.9 which basically nerfed GB to hell…

You tell me:

0.7.10 didn’t nerf Glancing Blow, it nerfed everyone’s access to it. 0.8 nerfed Glancing Blow from 50% DR to 35%.

I had honestly written it off as it seemed too hard to get after the change… even dodge seemed more viable… obviously I was wrong…

Dodge is still viable, but spikey. Plus with 100% glancing blow, any hit will heal you via the Thiefguard passive.

Honestly, I’d rather have both Dodge Chance & Glancing Blow chance, than just Glancing Blow.
You can easily get 31% Glancing Blow chance via passives, increased with Dusk Shroud via Passives or Skills. Using Apostasy means you have at least 35% dodge chance as well, to get 100% Glancing Blow.

Veil of Night gives you a 30% chance per attack to gain Dusk Shroud.
Smoke Bomb, can get you 4 stacks of Dusk Shroud, which is an additional 20% glancing blow chance.

So why take a passive that eliminates dodging, when you can already get half-way to 100% glancing blow with 1 skill.

I’m not playing a Bladedancer, but most of their skills seem to be high-intensity, so Veil of Night should be up fairly frequently as well.

Not if you use channelled Flurry, that only counts as 1 use per channel.
