Anomaly becomes permanently unusable after using the secondary activation (Steam / Controller)

Hello,

I found what appears to be a bug with Anomaly on a Void Knight.

Environment

  • Steam version

  • Controller gameplay

  • Void Knight

  • Monoliths

  • Skill: Anomaly

Issue

After using Anomaly’s secondary activation (the action that immediately ends the effect / returns affected enemies), Anomaly eventually becomes completely unusable.

When this happens:

  • The cooldown is finished.

  • The skill icon appears available.

  • Pressing the assigned controller button does nothing.

  • Pressing the corresponding keyboard key also does nothing.

  • Changing zones or starting a new Echo does not fix it.

  • Other skills continue to work normally.

Temporary Fixes

The skill becomes usable again if I:

  • Rebind the skill slot, or

  • Unspecialize and respecialize Anomaly

However, after using the secondary activation again, the issue eventually returns.

Testing Performed

I tested the following:

  • Removed all equipment

  • Used a minimal setup with only Anomaly and Warpath

  • Removed all Anomaly specialization nodes

  • Tested in a safe area with no enemies

The issue still occurred.

Possible Reproduction Steps

  1. Equip Anomaly.

  2. Cast Anomaly.

  3. Use the secondary activation to immediately end the effect.

  4. Repeat several times.

  5. Eventually Anomaly becomes permanently unusable until the skill is rebound or respecialized.

Additional Observation

I changed my Anomaly setup to use the time bubble that follows the player and stopped using the secondary activation entirely.

After running multiple Echoes without using the secondary activation, I was unable to reproduce the issue.

Because of this, the problem may be related specifically to Anomaly’s secondary activation.

Expected Result

Anomaly should remain usable after using its secondary activation.

Actual Result

Anomaly eventually becomes permanently unusable despite having no cooldown and must be reset via rebinding or respecializing.

Thank you.

You need to repost all of this into the in-game bug report (F8).

You should use the in-game bug report tool when that happens. It attaches a bunch of game data that the devs can use to debug the issue.

Thank you. I wasn’t aware that the in-game report includes additional debug data. I’ll submit it through the F8 tool the next time I reproduce the issue.
