Annoyed about Dancing Strikes and Attack Speed

I’m annoyed that Warpath, a skill where you spin around, attacks faster with attack speed, and Dancing Strikes, a skill which has a ton of DoTs you can apply and is about attacking repeatedly, does not attack faster with attack speed.

I doubt this complaint will change anything, as I kinda get why it is the way it is, I just don’t like it.

EDIT: Turns out I’m just annoyed about tooltips. Lotta stuff ain’t obvious!

There really are too many abilities that work against themselves similar to the issue with DS that you mentioned here. A lot of the abilities have entire sections of nodes that are worthless because there isn’t enough synergy to make them worth taking (wandering spirits poison, almost anything with “fear,” ignite on flasks, etc etc)

It also sucks because it means that the Nagasa Scymitars, where the whole point is they attack quickly to inflict a ton of DoTs and have increased DoT damage on top, have the attack speed just… not do anything to help DoT damage with Dancing Strikes, which to me is the most on-flavor skill for Scymitars.

Unless, somehow, the more damage from attack speed also applies to DoTs? But it doesn’t seem like it.

The damage scaling DS get’s from attack speed does apply to everything, including ailments applied by DS.

Also Cooldown Recovery Spped will make DS feel very different, because it basically increases the attack speed of the skill.

Dancing Strikes is still not the best skill for ailments, especially poison, since poison builds usually relly on applying as many stacks as possible.
But bleed builds work really well with DS for sure.

Oh! Then nevermind me on that point, it’s still probably less scaling than attack speed straight up would have but still good.

And I hear that a lot about Cooldown Recovery Speed, but I like playing solo and I never find enough shards of it while I’m leveling.

EDIT: Wait, does that mean all of the increased damage nodes also increase DoTs inflicted? I had long assumed otherwise, but…

If it says “x ability does more damage” it will apply to ailments.

If it says “x ability hits” or “hits with x ability” then it only applies to hit damage.

Now I need to reassess how I evaluated… well… every DoT…

While cooldown recovery speed is not super common, it’s also not super rare.

But you could simply add a simple rule to show helmets with it on your loot filter in a prominent color and shatter a few.
It’s really not That rare
