An S Tier Hammerdin? Yes Please! Here ya go 0.8.1c

Loving the build! Just hit 75 so i was able to get all pieces together, some good luck on items so far. still need 2 more smite idols sadly. I was wondering in capability where this build stands, is it ale to do empowered monoliths/bosses? would like the Decimator paladin be better? I’ve been trying builds all over the place, still wondering what’s the “strongest” option atm except for the werebear charge build which is… insane XD Scrap that actually - Strongest will be the 1 that can be abused anyway… Let me rephrase that in: How far do you think a hammerdin vs a decimator paladin can go?

There pretty close to equal and if your looking at doing empowered content they both can do it, but its more a matter of dodging the hurtful mechanics, not the builds themselves.

Awesome! God dang man, replying within the hour, you’re a god among men for us Last Epoch newbies!

Hey!

Great build so far, really scratched that old Diablo 2 itch that I was in need of.

So far I’ve managed to complete up to the lvl 70 quest echo, and I think it’s time for me to start crafting.

My question would be, shoud I focus crafting on Hammer Throw almost exclusively until I get the 4 idols? (I only found one with ctc smite so far).

Honestly most of my gear is for HT, and I’m afraid to switch to smite without the 4 idols and ending up shooting myself in the foot.

How many idols do you have? You don’t need all 4 but it does work better if you do.

Only one!

Most of my damage is coming from the multiple Throw mods I’ve got on my items, but it seems this build favours more void dmg/spell dmg than those. I’m a bit scared of swapping and having to cast smite manually to do damage :frowning:

Yeah, I’d probably wait till you’ve got 2-3.

Hi,
love this build!!!
not sure why my autocast not working good… my smite works all the time but ‘stucks’ my char, i cant move… and also my lunge is not working, any good idea why?

Welcome to the community!

If you want to autocast smite, you have to take the CD on it as it doesnt have a cooldown by default and its not an instant cast skill so your character will be stuck in place just casting it over and over again.

Lunge probly wont be going off if you have put a NON CD skill on autocast like the above example.

Your suppose to just be casting hammer throw with this build and the idols proc smite as a secondary proc not a primary cast.

So is this build still S tier? Leveling up a paladin and I know paladin got hit with some nerfs. Is is still strong as a primary character for a new player to push with and start farming things for other builds?

Holy Aura was nerfed a little but other than that there wasn’t much that changed for the Paladin.

as llama stated here:

That was the only Nerf.

Armor Saw a Buff, and now there is 20% more Armor effectiveness towards other ailments other than physical.

Considering the nerf to holy armor was just elemental resistance which can easily be picked up and considering that mana Regen can now be stacked even higher, this build should do even better!

That said, i havent touched it yet so what do i know. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the quick response! i was confused cuz in the video you said you prefer to put smite and lunge on autocast…
Love your content!!!

Hey thanks for the reply mate. Had a quick question, in the build planner it seems as if hammer throw only has 15 points specced, is there a reason why?

It should have 20 points spec’d. Not sure. Maybe a bug with the planner undergoing changes for the new patch update.

Hmm weird. Sorry for the wasted ping. I got the skill tree from the video. Thank you so much for your time and patience. I just switched to hammer throw and loving the build even without the smite mana gain helm affix and only 1 smite idol. Still tons of fun and a lot of dps

With the new mana regen it may even be possible to get enough to spam hammers and not need the affix anymore. Will be testing soon

The build is fine, you gained 4 small idols slots, in my case Holy Aura nerf put my cold resist to 72 which was fixed with a small idol, then I gained some flat HP

Also the build is better with a Prophecy Wand with the innate -3 mana cost so you can roll higher spell damage roll, it would do most damage with a Staff but too harsh to have no shield

I’d be surprised if it were worth swapping a damage and cost reduction prefix for a mana regen prefix especially when the max rolled t5 mana regen prefix gives you 2.97 mana per sec and the cost reduction prefix is -3. Unless you’re throwing hammers a less than 1 cast per second the damage/cost reduction affix is better purely from a cost point of view.

Lol its more about Running Mana regen on other items not on the helm at all and allowing the build to also not need such a rare affix. Getting the build to run and be spammable just off mana regen would be easier for new players.
