Hello.
I will show an example to argue that the very limited number of skill slots available is very frustrating for certain types of builds.
I’m looking to build a character who is:
-
Low life. So I absolutely need to generate a lot of ward with a skill, to survive. If we use Minions, the best skill is Rip Blood.
-
Who has the Absence of Life node, to heal my Minions. Absence of Life is only effective if you are low health.
-
Since I have to stay Low Health, and I’m going to heal constantly with Absence of Life, I have to take a spell that constantly reduces my Health. Only the spell Marrow Shards can do it, as he constantly reduce Health.
-
I’m also going to use Transplant. First because it is very very useful for its survival. Then because it combines perfectly with the Rip Blood spell, which I must use.
-
And in the end, what do I have left? I still have a slot. Only one slot to have Minions. They will therefore be either Skeletons or Wraith. One minion Slot for build which was imagined to be a Minion builds…
I can delete Aura of Decay (Absence of Life). But this is precisely why I wanted to build this build: to rely on this node to heal my Minions.
If I delete it, I will have exactly the same kind of classic Minions build that I usually have.
If I delete Marrow Shards, I can’t stay low Health constantly. And here too, I’m going to fall back into something classic, a pure Minions build.
In the end, the problem is that having only 5 skills greatly limits the diversity of builds that need to use Minions or Passive skills (like Aura of Decay).
5 skills, if it’s 5 active skills, that’s great. You are constantly using 4 or 5 powers active skill, and one auto skill or passive skill.
But 5 Skills, for this kind of build, it greatly reduces the freedom of builds and gameplay.
This is why I suggested and I suggest again, that a solution be brought to this problem. A solution which could be:
- +1 Skill Slot for all characters.
- Or +1 free slot but only for the movement skill (teleport, transplant ect).
- Or, make passive skills (Golem summons, or Aura of Decay are passive skills. We rarely use them!) Separate from active skills, or if we put three passive skills, we get a third “free” available.
The goal is not to buff Summoners’ might overhall. It is to instill more freedom in the choice of skills, and make them more active in their gameplay.
