An all complete loot filter for start and end game new/experienced players

This is a loot filter I’ve created that should work for every single class in the game, for brand new players or highly experienced players. First thing you’ll want to do is find where I’ve hidden all classes, and choose the class you are playing and uncheck the class that you’re playing, so you’ll see items pertaining to your class as well as all general items.

I’ve set some leveling rares at the very top, for newer players these are excellent uniques to put on any character to start off the bat and pretty much make it so you can just leave normal items hidden, but if you are starting out on your first character, you may want to turn off hide all normal items, which you’ll find at the very bottom of the filter.

I’ve also set it to show some affixes i find to be rare, you can easily adjust these or turn them off, they are also colored, and will show from any class, they are meant to just crush to get the affix shards or save for other classes.

It is set to begin with every single item only showing the first 3 tiers of levels or so dropping. The idea is that as you progress in levels you’ll want to go through and turn off/on the types of bases you want to see for each item. the recolour you see above each item is for late game and when you want to get serious with very specific loot farming. It acts as a “show”, so you can hide, although i’d recommend just leaving the one item type, say for example the last tier of boots is all you want- but you want to see them especially if they have a certain affix of +4 on them. That’s where the recolour comes in, turn that on and set it to the same type with the affix(es), which is already ready to go you just need to pick the affixes you want to see and the level you want, then any very specific item you want will show in red. Obviously very easy to change colors to anything you like, just remember to turn on/off the filters i have hidden (there is a box to the right of them to do this - don’t hit the X that will delete it)
any questions or suggestions you feel free to ask in my chat, at Twitch or post below.

Too add this to your game, simply download and save the below attachment, then click the green + to create a new loot filter and choose the top right option to open your loot filter folder, place this file there and then you should now see it in your list of loot filters. Good luck!

also I wasn’t sure where guides were posted like this on the forums as this is my first post so if It needs moved or I need to move it somewhere else mods go for it. But it can apply to all classes and I didn’t see a ‘guide’ forum anywhere.

I set up my loot filter to color code by highest tier of affix on the items. The entire thing is just recolors.

Pink - Idols as separate, regardless of affixes
Red - Anything with +skills
Yellow - Anything with Class-specific affixes
Purple - T6 affixes
Orange - T5
Bright Green - T4
Dark Green - T3
Light Blue - T2 or less
Base items are still white, but have an option to hide them

Basically, this makes it easy to get a rough idea of the general quality of items as you level, and you just ignore lower tiers as you get higher level. I don’t mind still being able to see everything because I can just keep my eye out for the notable stuff based on color, but this lets me also keep an eye out for good bases with reasonable affixes.

yeah that’s just way to much on the screen for me, the whole purpose of this loot filter is to eventually narrow down to extreme specifics that you want to farm (if you want, it’s completely flexible, everything is separated out) that way you’re only having to pick up the items you ever see and not have to think twice about it.

I took a similar approach at first, when I was leveling my first character, but found it insufficient because it left too much on the table–err, floor. I like to keep a healthy stock of items in my stash that have high enough tier affixes, or important ones, that I can either just do a Search for stuff to breakdown or to use as a base.

I appreciate the mindset of the filter you put forward. It’s very PoE-like. I just find that my priorities in this game are different, so it requires a different approach to the filter. I’m not really saying either way is more correct in absolute terms, but it might be helpful for people who view the thread to see other approaches and decide what works best for them.
