Trying to get Uethrin’s Stand for a ballista build. I’ve hit Outcasts quite a bit. Only at 120 corruption, but it’s listed as a “common” drop. I’ve hit about 20-25 unique/set bow nodes and still no drop. Did the drop rate get lowered or am I just unlucky?
Did you try getting it off Runes of Ascendance? If you just need only the base unique so you can get the build going, it’s often easier trying to Ascendance it.
The odds are supposedly 1:9 for gettin the Uethrin’s on a Rune of Ascendance.
Only found two runes during this hunt, but I’ll give it a shot.
There are 8 common bows and 4 common quivers. Let’s ignore the 2 rare bows and just use those 12 as a base. That’s 1/12 or ~8%.
Not getting it in 25 tries is a 12% chance, so actually quite likely to happen.
So you’re a bit unlucky, but not that much. Just remember to pray to RNGeezus.
Just for clarification, I know you just wanted to give exemplary numbers.
But these “common” and “rare” categorization are just artifical brackets. (from Dammitt)
Each individual unique has own chance (weighting).
So it’s a lot more nuanced
I know, the site shows the reroll chance. Most are 0% (including the bow OP is looking for) and there’s one or 2 with 20% reroll chance. It should all balance out by the fact that we removed the rare drops from our pool.
The actual numbers should actually further the same point even more (actual drop chance is a little below 1/12), but I really didn’t feel like doing all that when some quick and dirty math can make the same point more easily.
Given the one the OP wants has a 0% reroll chance, no, not really.
If all you’re trying to model is billard balls, there’s no need to go full quantum mechanics on the simulation, Newtonian mechanics will do just fine.
I did wanted to clarify this not because of what OP wants but as a general information for people reading the thread.
Having a simplified explanation for something with exemplary numbers is fine, but I think for people reading over the thread it is important to say how it actually works.
I have five of them: wish they didn’t say “Cannot be traded.” so I could hand you one
They’re not on the same level as the spear is labelled “Very Rare”, but I’ve seen a single Morditas’ Reach since I started playing the game at release, despite target-farming it off and on for a while now. Finally have one to mess around with, so yay me; hopefully you’ll get your bow faster than I got my spear lol
I assume you’re already doing this, but the Circle of Fortune could help you with Prophecies that specifically target bows - the more opportunities to roll it the better, you know? I got the aforementioned spear from a prophecy, rather than from a Monolith node.
Appreciate the thought.
I’ve leveled my Torment lock from 90-94 doing nothing but Outcasts. Must have dropped 35 or so unique bows, but still no luck.
Oddly, I have the spear and never tried to farm it. Had no idea it was that rare.
First time I’ve seen this. Two prophesies just glitched. Listed as 8x unique bow and 4x unique bow, but they dropped as rares.
I’ve dropped 1 Morditas’ Reach ever in the several years I’ve been playing…
My suspicion is that this happens quite often. Sometimes I get the message that the prophecies were triggered and items were ready for pickup but nothing actually dropped. I do not filter out uniques and also disabled the filter.
Happened several times for me.
Every time it does, you should use the in-game bug report tool. That attaches a bunch of game data and is great to let devs know what is going on. Keep doing that until it’s fixed.
I was wrong: I have six copies of the bow, including one that has +57% Crit Multiplier and +8 Bow Physical Damage. That copy does not say “Cannot be traded”; want it? I play exclusively by myself so I don’t really know the ins-and-outs of giving it to you…the Gifting button says something about a Resonance earned from playing together, which sounds like a problem.
Yup. Giving other people gear has 2 options. One is that you’re both MG & then you can sell it to them for 0 gold assuming they have the rep to “buy” it from you, the alternative is that you play with them for an indeterminately long time for a resonance to drop, then you can gift it to them. If you’re gifting stuff, that should work with the “cannot be traded” gear as you’re not trading the item to them…
That’s an awesome offer, and I really appreciate it. I suspect it won’t actually allow a trade under these circumstances, though. I’ll get the drop eventually (I hope). I really was just curious if I was a statistical outlier or if the drop rate had changed. Sounds like I’m probably an outlier.
There’s a third option, just doesn’t apply to this specific trade issue where on person already has an item and wants to give it to someone, but your comment sounded more general.
That option is to together and the item drops, then you can just gift it to them at that time.
Finally dropped as a totally random drop and not even a mono reward. SMH.
I mentioned Morditas’ Reach as an example of rarity, then dropped two more. Go figure!
