I wanted to ask about the unique sword, Alluvion, which casts a tidal wave on attack with a 2 second cooldown.
I started to consider using this base as it has solid flat damage values alongside spelldamage.
However I was very disappointed in the Alluvion Wave. It scales off Cold, Spell, Int and Attunement, of which I have decent amounts (30+ attunement, 200% cold damage, 59 spell damage), yet the alluvion wave only hits the target dummy for 1300 damage. This is in comparison to my main skill which is hitting the dummy for 300k crits.
This looks like something that has been forgotten to revisit, as this poor scaling makes it impossible to ever be useful. In fact, in its current form, I would rather have the wave disabled than see it every 2 seconds, since it deals no damage and is simply more screen clutter.
Is there any idea to revisit and possibly buff the scaling on the wave to make it feel impactful? Thank you
Why even care about the wave when you’re hitting for 300k crits. While I understand you want the wave to deal significantly more damage, 30 attunement and 200% increased is not necessarily building into the unique.
You shouldn’t compare a feature of a unique like that to the skill you’ve primarily focused into. Especially since they would not be receiving the same attention.
Now if the wave scales awfully with a build attempting to fully utilize it I can understand it deserving a buff (which could be the case.)
Read the Alluvion Wave description, the skill has 400% added damage effectiveness this means flat spell dmg works for it x4, most other skills barely have 100%. My crit spell werebear build (Druid, Level 93 (LE Beta 0.9.0) - Last Epoch Build Planner) uses it and along with the 57 flat spell dmg from the weapon, I have 90 flat spell dmg from Strength stacking. This along with easy 100% crit chance from werebear and warcy makes it oneshot any mob and most rares(in empowered echoes) not to mention it hits a lot of mobs offscreen as well.
Other ways of getting high flat dmg to work with it would be the mage passive tree and firebrand(convert stacks to flat spell) and/or dex stacking with Mourningfrost boots.
That is my suspicion, that even with spell damage (which by the way, I don’t see how its possible to get much spell damage when the weapon occupies the weapon slot), as well as alot of cold damage and attunement, I still believe that the wave proc will not do relevant damage.
Nobody is building for the wave proc, because the wave proc is not scalable in its current state.
I care about it because its part of my build. And I care about it because if its always 1% damage regardless if you build to scale it, then I think it needs a buff for everyone that uses the sword.
Well, I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt that. I would really enjoy to see a screenshot of you hitting the dummy from far range with the wave proc only, to show us how much it is hitting the dummy for.
In its current state I am very sure that the scaling on it means it can’t ever become scaled into something useful or relevant. In which case, because the damage is so irrelevant, it simply becomes a point of annoyance because its screen clutter every 2 seconds which does no damage.
Dummy is rough for this build because I can’t sustain werebear rage on it since it doesn’t count as an ‘Enemy’. I can’t record very well but here’s a clip of wave 25 in T4 arena https://imgur.com/a/Hzeu8vz where it still holds up even tho my spriggan (which also gives flat spell dmg and a lot of crit) dies. Was able to finish it too https://imgur.com/a/48hRw8f
This is like using a basic 1h sword with Forge strike/Earthquake vs Warpath/swipe and complaining that Forge strike/Earthquake damage sucks compared to Warpath/swipe.
