Any hint how to improve
The black sun boss is not an easy one, but its definitely not the hardest.
You havent really provided much info in that you dont show your skills etc, but your build doesnt look like its spec’d very well…
You have 299% Void resistance - anything higher than 75% is generally useless.
You have 299% Critical Avoidance - anything higher than 100% is useless.
For a level 80 character your 1209 Health is very low - it should be closer to 2000.
Your defences seem mediocre - especially if you cannot regen/leech health/ward quickly enough to recover…
I recommend you upload your full build to Last Epoch Build Planner so that people can see exactly what you are trying to do and offer suggestions…

As @vapourfire pointed out, optimising your defensive layers might help.
A lot of the mechanics of this particular boss are very lethal (and he has a lot of different mechanics). So with a little bit of work on the defenses you might come to a point where some skills no longer 1 or 2 shots you, so the room for mistakes is a bit bigger for you.
Anotehr major part of the difficulty of monolith are the enemy modifiers. If you want to pratice fights you should take as few modifiers as possible and avoid damage modifiers.
One can save the 1st and 2nd quest echo and all special echoes (Beacons and Vessels) to get rid of active modifiers. So when you enter the boss echo you have no or very few remaining modifiers.
But also on the other hand, the boss is designed in a way, that you van virtually avoid every single of his mechanics. So when learning the mechanics and patterns the fight will become easier.
