Have been playing for a couple of years and could reliably get 100fps+ on low settings, and I was totally happy with that, despite needing to restart sometimes because of the memory leaks that you all have acknowledged. I even spent the $20 or whatever on MTX because I was having a ton of fun on my primary character.
Whatever you’ve done now has made it so that I’m lucky to get a consistent 30fps in any area. Even the Monolith map is laggy now. I get good performance for a few minutes when I restart the game, but then it devolves. The new stuff sounds fun, but I guess I won’t get to play it because now it runs like a totally different game for me with no discernable reason why. I’ve tried it offline too; it’s not a network issue.
This is a perfect time for you to make your game perform worse, because as you may know, PC components are at an all time level of affordability and availability. We’re practically drowning in cheap hardware! I could put a decent down payment down for a new car right now if I sold the RAM and M.2 drives that are in my laptop. How many people do you expect to play your game right now who have a few thousand dollars to put down for the hardware you’ve made necessary with Season 4 to play a 2 year old ARPG?
Cool, cool, cool. This was a really fun game yesterday. Today, not so much. Didn’t Krafton just lose a $250 million dispute because they tried to use AI in their court case to dip out on their contract with Subnautica 2? Maybe that’s reflecting on things down the line.
I don’t want to be this a “goodbye” to a game that I love and to my absolutely criminal triple T7 Rogue boots–no one really wants to hear my cool story bro anyway, in this post included–but I hate that it might have to end this way.
