Stash and inventory item search can easily be improved in a rather significant way by simply enabling the option of using loot filters to search stashes.
Current search is very limited and a bit clunky. Loot filters have already been implemented and it should be trivial to enable using those on stashes. It would give us a much needed ability to search vast stash tabs for items we need.

I can’t find the quote but I am sure Mike Weicker, one of the senior devs from EHG already mentioned that Loot Filter applying to items in Inventory/Stash is not as easy to implement as it might seem.
So never assume something is easy to implement.
EHG talks about that a lot. There are many things that seem easy to implement, but they are not.
More advanced search options is something I have seen requested multiple times and I don’t think EHG is against it.
I guess it is just a matter of priority.
The Stash system as it is right now already is incredibly good, so improving this further might not be the priority right now, but will come eventually.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Mike state on one of his streams that they are working on better stash search functionality. I just don’t think it will be for 1.0. And no, I don’t think it will be like the loot filter applied to stashes. I’m pretty sure he sort of discarded that idea both for stashes and for vendors, since they wouldn’t be easy to implement, technically.
I don’t really see the need for the loot filter in stash, but I would love it in vendors inventory (to spot these rare affixes).
I do believe it must be technically harder than we think, or it would exist already.
