Yeah, I’m just saying, there’s more than one way to skin that particular cat.
That’s an aiming/target movement issue not a hits per second issue. It’s an issue certainly, but not actually the one that you think it is in terms of getting stacks on a large/slow moving target. For small/fast moving targets, yes, it’s a massive issue.
No, it doesn’t. The issue you describe would only be the case if you could only have 1 flask “put” at a time, but that’s not how it works.
They do. When the flask hits the target it creates an AoE damage event that applues poison (& any other ailments).
So you didn’t aim perfectly. The target jinked out of the way (or something).
True, but you can also lead the target to land more hits. And this is hhe aiming issue.
Take this example.
The world’s best player sees a ‘Jahith Bear’ (the damn annoying bears with runes on their body) coming towards him. He throws pixel-perfect into the trajectory of the movement of the bear, even taking into consideration his own trajectory and how the AI will change its own accordingly.
The flask flies.
It’s right there, ready to hit.
The bear teleports.
If he was the world’s best player, he would have predicted the teleport and thrown the Acid Flask where the bear would end up. Obviously an aiming issue by the world’s best player. /s
It’s even worse than that. It’s a “being dumb” issue. The world’s best player would know that the bear always does that. So you would throw the flask at your feet, not at the bear.
That’s like saying that fireball (or any ranged spell/skill really) sucks because you don’t account for the mob’s behaviour.
Sure, if he knows the bear is freshly aggroed and not one which returns from running away a bit dealing with something else.
And also target leading is a raised difficulty bar related to the respective game speed. Which has to take into consideration the power potential of the skill accordingly. Which despite everything wouldn’t still be the case currently with Acid Flask as… well… being Acid actually and not ‘fire bomb’
Hi, here is a video of me with 166% throwing speed - yeah I know its really slow but it’s all I’ve got I know most people would have over 9000. Here is also me missing a training dummy, as you can see its an aiming / skill issue. 200 on hit poison in tree, 220 on staff, 97 on gloves.
I mean, in game vs ubberoth I would definitely be standing dead still firing what is it @DJSamhein 10 flasks per second for 5 stacks per and duration 4 seconds? I mean, I’m doing 7 stacks per throw and I can’t get above 80, its definitely a skill and aiming issue. Just sitting here with my NOT 200 stacks, always NOT having 200 stacks. Please see video.
I look forward to you posting maths examples to say my video evidence of this skill needing more projectile speed vs you proving it with actual game play. I am sure you’ll have another reason to say “you dont need more projectile speed” even when you see how slow the lob is vs other skills. I’m sure you’ll say I was missing the dummy or need more poison on hit even though its over 5 fucking hundred percent already. I’m sure you’ll have other reasons to fucking tank this fucking thread when all it needed was some support saying “YEAH BRO WOULD BE NICE TO BUFF ACID FLASK EVEN THOUGH WE ALL PLAY VOID KNIGHTS OR UMBRAL BLADES” but nah lets just sit here trying to prove how smart we are.
PS I also put video of me hitting right next to the target to show how shit the fucking AOE is on this skill - and yes thats with points in AOE and the armor which increases AOE.
PPS - I am very frustrated as you can tell by my tone because you see first hand via in game experience whats wrong then people on the forums try mansplain you’re wrong and that maths is right.
Yes, because a skilled player who’s capable of “pixel perfect” aiming knows that a Jahith Bear teleports the moment it detects the player so either their “pixel perfect” aim is at their own feet or they don’t pull the mob while the flask is in flight.
This is an issue for any projectile skills versus any teleporting mob, not specifically Acid Flask.
I hope your back is feeling ok from moving all of those goal posts.
Sorry, clairvoyance doesn’t fall into the skill-set of dexterity based applications
I know rigid thought processes are a distinct aspect at times… but there’s a thing as ‘too rigid’ and not being able to accomodate the point itself someone wants to showcase. Especially someone which is known to not speak in precise terms while trying to do that specifically.
It’s 47 posts here, the ask was for a AoE increase. That’s a viable ask since the AoE is dogshit.
Then it got expanded. Damage related aspects, attack speed, traversal speed, multiplication of projectiles and so on and so forth… all viable potential avenues.
Why are we arguing here as if they have zero influence on the outcome?
Do they? Then you get the point!
Don’t they? Then that would be kinda baffling to me if you think so.
Just watch my video haha it shows the aoe is shit, it shows that even with 500 on hit poison the stacks are shit, it shows the projectile damage is shit, it shows ticks are pretty lack luster even with 700ish percent increased damage over time it shows literally everything said in this thread other than it sucks is WRONG. It’s a fucking average skill right now actually average is overly generous tbh, if its destined to be support only thats fine but its a fucking waste because a few tweaks and it’ll be a super fun, full game viable skill and give the player base another build option.
Bollocks. It’s got nothing to do with clairvoyance as you well know & everything to do with knowing that that specific mob teleports when it first gets aggro. It quite literally says that in the mob’s name.
