We are not sure if we get achievements before the release, but Mike, one of the devs, wrote this on discord: (@xanaki posted it in another thread here)
We will be adding achievements to the game. It’s not a core gameplay mechanic so we have been focusing on other things for now. I’m personally a really big fan of those weird achievements that show up kinda randomly. For example, a couple years ago I was playing civ6 and used an archaeologist to get an achievement that I never would have guessed existed. It was something like use an archaeologist in foreign territory as America with a German archeologist in an adjacent tile. It’s a fun nod to Indiana Jones.
But yea, achievements will be added.
