What went wrong?
(Game played on the Steam version)
I had farmed the awakened monolith echoes for some hours.
After acquiring the sought-after items (idol, armor, uniques etc.) I clicked on a Temporal Sanctum key to bring up the teleport map and enter the Sanctum, so I could run the dungeon to upgrade said uniques’ LP with affixes. The attempt to teleport to the Temporal Sanctum node ended in an error message stating I had timed out. Alas, I have no screenshot of this. The game froze as it displayed said message, so I restarted it.
After getting back into the game, I noticed that my inventory did not have the items in it that were there upon encountering the crash. Closer inspection revealed that said items were the ones the character has had on him before the multi-hour monolith farm session. His level had also reverted to the previous state.
Checking the stash revealed that the stash was suffering from the same: Any changes over the last few hours had been wiped. The same is true for my monolith progression - it has all reverted back.
I tried to restart the game again, thinking there might have been some form of de-sync that could be reverted if I restart fast enough, but alas, no avail. As I’ve noticed now, what I did apparently succeed in, was wiping my log from the actual farm session. So uploading the recent new ones will likely show naught.
This having been the first genuine farming session of the awakened monolith, which had resulted in some great and extremely rare drops has dampened my spirits rather significantly.
I do not dare to hope for restored progress, but maybe there’ll be some investigation+fix to ensure that it does not happen to others.
