Hi, new to the forum and unsure if the Devs read these posts but thought i’d pop it here in case they do.
I’ve just recently bought the game and I am very much enjoying the little i’ve played. However as one, of what im sure is many, of the visually impaired players I must say that the UI and lack of customisation options for display can make the game difficult to play. I understand that this is an early access game and that this stuff wont end up on the top of the to-do list but I just wanted to offer some suggestions that could make the game a lot easier to play. consider it some QOL for the UI.
Please bare in mind, these suggestions are what I think would benefit visually impaired users from personal experience (but may also benefit the larger community)
-
Change the dropdown menu for brightness to a slider. I find that i need to “fine tune” brightness to ideally suit what game I’m playing
-
Larger Text - I’m finding text somewhat difficult to read as it’s fairly small. an option to increase text size would be great. if not globally then for the Quest tracker and Tooltips would be a huge start.
-UI Scaling, being able to scale the UI globally would be great. Lots of elements of the game are fairly small and difficult to see at a comfortable distance.
-
Custom opacity for overlay map. This would benefit all - Map can be intrusive to some and hard to see for others.
-
Chat needs an overhall. Changing chat window background, opacity, text colours and text size would allow those with (or without) visual impairments to create a chat window they can use comfortably,
Long shot - Being able to move and scale individual UI components would be huge for me.
those are just some suggestions but any solution would be a massive deal. An idea of what elements i really struggle with are:
Most none-quest text in the game. Including Quest tracker, skills, drops and tooltips
Health bars
Chat is effectively unusable for me
Brightness ideally needs to be fine-tune-able
General gameplay is fine and I’m not finding any difficulty with that.
Thanks for reading my rambling and if any of these changes happen, i’d be eternally grateful
