Abomination in-depth mechanics

Hello! So i’ve been playing an Abom build and i have a lot of questions about the minion consumption mechanics.

  1. If you take the skeleton respawn chance nodes - they will keep respawning WHILE you are eating them to create an Abom. Will this contribute to it’s maximum health and damage? Is this intended or a bug (i sure hope it’s intended, i felt pretty smart about it).
  2. Can the proccess described above pollute the minion pool and deactivate Death in the Family node? As in: you eat soo many warriors that you reach the cap of 20 and your mages or wraiths that are consumed next do not count towards the passive?
  3. I am sure eating the Dinosaur from the new relic is unintended, you can even eat it multiple times during the proccess as it keeps respawning rather quick. But is eating Skeleton Vanguards also unintended? It would be a pretty smart way to reach the minion cap of 20, but the Abom does not consume them after it spawns afterwards.
  4. Is it intended that Elixir of Hunger Necromancer passive consumes Abom when you use a potion? This threshold node seems pretty detremental overall, but this makes it a build-killer for Abomination builds.
It would be really helpful to have a counter on the Abom’s icon to indicate how many minions it has consumed and some sort of a visual indication that Death in the Family passive is active.
  1. Yes, it will count. And I expect it’s intended, since it’s a fairly straightforward interaction and they even added a unique to get to 100% respawn chance. Not to mention they reworked Abom this season.

  2. If the first skeleton respawns before the last is consumed, then yes. It will only count 20 skellies for the passive. If Abom consumes them faster than they can respawn, then I expect you’ll get a few others in the mix. Might be hard to get all different types, though.

  3. Not sure. I think skeleton vanguards count as regular skeletons. It might be intended. Only a dev would know, though, so you should ask on discord in the ask a dev channel.

  4. If you only have Abom, then yes. He’s the lowest health minion. If you want to use that node without consuming Abom, then you need to have another minion around.
