I leved up a runemaster mage, and am currently running a frostclaw cold dmg build. I found some gear that I would like to try out a hydrahedron build. However, I don’t want to loose my existing build unless/until I have tried out the new build and I enjoy it more.
To achieve that, having the ability to have a 2nd build would be the best solution for me. I understand part of the community does not want build switching, but maybe it would be more accepted if limited by some or all of the following
Builds can not change your mastery (I think this should be a given)
Only 2 builds
After inital selection, the 2 builds can only be changed like the current method. This means points must be reset like current design and re-leveling of skills after change is required.
A level requirement. Maybe the 2nd build slot is only gained at level 80 (or higher)
I wonder if these types of games would ever implement a real training area.
ability to grab a few uniques add whatever skills / classes you want.
And just test things against the training dummy. Would save a lot of time, frustration and lessen the importance of newer players relying on watching / reading hours of pointless videos with possibly outdated or incorrect information.
It’s been suggested before. Just like build loadouts have. In many many many many threads. Most people just don’t see them because some people keep opening new threads intead of searching for existing ones that have already said the exact same thing and where the suggestion has already been discussed at length.
Because it’s easier to just make a new thread than to use the search functionality.
No, it should not be ‘a given’ as the main classes simply show you the direction the actual classes will take.
The basic class is the ‘archetype’ and the masteries are the ‘specialization’ inside that archetype.
Hence we have 15 available classes.
Given that LE has a campaign which can be cut very short and a rather short-term end-game system there’s no need to have this be inside the game in the first place.
This is a loadout system. I’m for it inside the same mastery if the respective downsides are built in as we currently have ‘only’ 25 character slots. As soon as it rises to 100+ I’m generally against it.
For any other method then directly switching inside the same mastery while not having access to the formerly unlocked blessings or direct ability to take off gear and so on… I’m against it.
