Aberrant Call Doesn't Drain Minion Health if Minions Already Summoned

See title:
I equipped Aberrant Call after I already had Minions out and their health was not draining. When I summoned new minions, it began draining only on the new minions.

Dequipping Abberant Call still had my minions drain health. It appears to snapshot.
